Gallery Statement

“I have to give you credit, you are not very self aware, but if someone holds a mirror to your face, you are not afraid to look” Aaron Korsh

If Star Trek was some reflection on the id, ego and superego from the 60’s, maybe Suits has parallel for what recently passed as conversation between ideals of pluralism and tolerance.

Call for Artists 2018

Since 2002 Telephonebooth has produced two group shows a season,
the Summer Salon and the Winter Invitational.

Usually the Summer Salon is a mixed group show of gallery artists' recent work and emerging artists.

We have always encouraged application to the group shows as a more accessible entry into the gallery process.

2017-18 Winter Invitational

2017-18 Winter Invitational

the luxury of imaginary purism only dissolves
when mixed with pluralist reality.

Telephonebooth, and the gallery as intersection of pluralistic dialogue,
has always been the program, as if there might be a metaphor to our larger
world outside of art.

To this point, in this show, there is art of refinement
and also art of a rough hewn nature all sharing the same location
and all equally valid.
